'Stabbing' on Glasgow's Buchanan Street sees man rushed to hospital

A man was rushed to hospital after local reports claim a man was stabbed in Buchanan Street last night.

A police cordon was put in place near the top of the street outside JD Sports following the assault, which is believed to have taken place around 8:30pm.

It is claimed that a pool of blood could be spotted on the pavement in the wake of the incident.

Police confirmed to Glasgow Live that a man was the victim of an assault and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

His present condition is unknown although officers say his injuries are not life-threatening.

Enquiries remain ongoing.

The police cordon was stood down at 9.30pm.

The assault comes after a teenager was seriously assaulted on Argyle Street at the corner with Queen Street on Thursday (July 1) following a disturbance involving a group of five males with weapons.

The 16-year-old male sustained a head injury and was treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary before being later released.
