'Stab attack' woman rushed to hospital as cops launch attempt murder probe

A woman is in hospital after being seriously injured during an attack in East Kilbride.

Police are treating the incident as attempted murder and have appealed for information.

The drama unfolded at 7.30am this morning in Pembroke, and it's understood the woman may have been stabbed multiple times.

The area has been cordoned off and officers are carrying out an extensive investigation, the East Kilbride News reports

A source told the News: “It was first thing this morning when I heard all the noise.

“It looked like the lady had been stabbed. Her arms, legs and face were covered in blood.

“An ambulance arrived and took her away fairly quickly but it didn’t look great for her.

“Police have taped off the area, it looks like a murder scene.”

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment and it is understood a man has been detained after a short search, but no charges have yet been brought against him.
