St. Vincent-St. Mary’s uniform LeBron wore in Sports Illustrated up for auction

Although his eldest son LeBron James Jr. has finally started his high school basketball career, the memory and impact of LeBron’s high school years is still vivid as one of the last classes to jump from preps to the pros. And while there is a great deal of attention surrounding his son, an iconic piece of LeBron’s high school career is expected to go for six figures at auction.

According to TMZ, the gold St. Vincent-St. Mary’s jersey that LeBron wore on the 2002 February cover of Sports Illustrated, which to many introduced the then high school junior to the world, is at auction. Ken Goldin, of Goldin Auctions, confirmed the sale to TMZ where he expects the jersey to go for at least $300K.

James starred on the cover that year and later on during his next high school season, he had games that were carried nationally on ESPN. While the Bronny phenomenon itself is something we haven’t seen before on the AAU circuit, the LeBron High School era is still the most unforgettable one we’ve ever seen.
