St Vincent Place closed as emergency services rush to city centre accident

A busy city centre street is closed to drivers after an accident.

The incident happened in St Vincent Place, at its corner with Buchanan Street, around 12.30pm this afternoon.

Emergency services are at the scene and have closed the busy road.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received reports of an accident on St Vincent Place at around 12.30pm. A man was knocked off his scooter.

"No other vehicles were involved."

A council traffic statement reads: "Police are now in attendance and have closed St Vincent Place at Queen Street.

"Traffic are being diverted to George Square.

"Please avoid area if possible.

The condition of those involved is unknown at this time.
