Most shops, pharmacies and garages are closed today as many celebrate Christmas.
The sales will be kicking off in the coming days as shoppers root for a bargain before the new season stock arrives.
St Stephen’s Day is a busy day for retailers as the rush continues among shoppers.
Most will be opening with reduced hours, and with thousands of shoppers heading out, Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan, has warned that people should avoid crowds.
He recommends people shop online where they can as Omicron spreads quickly through the community.
If you have some items you need to pick up urgently, your best bet is to head in early before the masses this Stephen’s Day.
Here are the full opening hours for Tesco, Dunnes, Lidl, Aldi, and Supervalu and more.
Supervalu will be open tomorrow from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm so there is plenty of time to pop in and top up any grocery needs after Christmas Day.
Tesco will reopen its doors on Sunday at 10:00 am and will remain open slightly longer until 8:00 pm.
According to their websites, both Lidl and Aldi will remain closed on St Stephen’s Day to give their staff a well-deserved Christmas break.
As for Dunnes Stores, depending on the location around Ireland, some will remain shut and others will reopen at reduced hours.
If it’s more gifts or bits and bobs you’re after on Sunday, Arnotts reopens from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm.
Likewise, Smyths Toy Stores will reopen at 9:00 am until 9:00 pm if there are any kids in the family you need to pick things up for.
Harvey Norman will also reopen at the reduced hours of 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm tomorrow.
