A school production that had to be rescheduled due to COVID-19 is being performed this week, with the original four shows growing to 12 for smaller audiences.
The 30 students from High Street Productions - a St Philip's Christian College initiative -were preparing to perform the musical Seussical Kids in April, but it is now showing from July 25 to August 1.
College director of performing arts and founder of High Street Productions Michael Cooper said staff and tutors responded swiftly when live group rehearsals stopped in March.
A weekly Zoom rehearsal allowed the cast to practice songs, learn new choreography and connect. Screen sharing allowed students to rehearse in real time together.
Tutors recorded themselves performing new choreography for individual dance parts.
"The ability for students to be able to move and express themselves creatively is vital to their sense of self and well-being," he said.
"Continuing rehearsals online allowed students to remain connected with one another, express their creativity and pursue their passion for the performing arts."
