St Pauls Carnival search policy and the items you can't take in

The organisers of St Pauls Carnival have instructed carnival goers to leave certain items at home to reduce disruption during celebrations.

The African-Caribbean carnival saw around 100,000 people come together last year after their three-year hiatus.

But, with celebrations comes safety measures and this year the carnival organisers are working closely with Avon & Somerset Police to ensure that there is a safe and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

This is where to find out everything you need to know about St Pauls Carnival 2019

Carnival goers have been advised not to bring rucksacks or any glass to the event.

The St Pauls carnival team have said: “The organisers reserve the right to search bags and any glass found will not be permitted into the carnival areas and maybe confiscated.”

There will be some streets which will be one-way walking traffic only in order to encourage traffic flow. As well as Stewards and Police being on hand to direct people. There will also be information provided at each stage to ensure the festivities continue safely.

The team have added: “First aid points will be in place at the Malcolm X Community Centre, Orange St and Brigstocke Rd.

“St Pauls Community Sports Academy will act as a temporary hospital.”
