St Patrick's Athletic v Derry City called off due to waterlogged pitch

St Patrick's Athletic and Derry City's Premier Division clash has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch at Richmond Park.

"Following a 12pm pitch inspection, the Premier Division fixture has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch," the league confirmed.

"A new date will be announced in due course."

The Saints said: "Following a pitch inspection tonight’s game with Derry City has been postponed.

"A new date will be confirmed at a later stage."

The game has become the second to fall victim to the weather today after Finn Harps and Shelbourne was also postponed due to snow.

A 10am pitch inspection was called by Harps but the freezing conditions meant the game could not go ahead.

Some roads around the county were closed this morning after the overnight deluge and, while temperatures are set to pick up during the day, travelling conditions could have remained treacherous.
