St Pat's vs Dundalk called off after confirmed COVID-19 case in Pat's squad

St Pat's have cancelled Friday's league game with Dundalk after a confirmed COVID-19 case in the squad.

The Dublin club announced this evening that it's entire first team squad and staff are restricting their movements while awaiting tests.

Manager Stephen O'Donnell had been due to hold a Zoom pre-match press conference with media today but it was cancelled.

An FAI statement read: "One positive COVID-19 case has been identified in the St. Patrick's Athletic squad.

"As a result, the whole first team squad and staff are now restricting their movements and awaiting tests, following HSE and government guidelines."

Friday's game at Richmond Park has yet to be rescheduled, but finding room in Dundalk's already hectic calendar will be easier said than done after they qualified for the Europa League group stages.

This is the third confirmed case of COVID-19 in the League of Ireland after Galway United announced yesterday that two of its players had tested positive.
