St Pat's opening Richmond Park food bank to provide supplies to vulnerable people

Richmond Park is to open as a food bank that provides supplies to vulnerable people in the Inchicore area during the Covid-19 crisis.

St Patrick’s Athletic announced the venture in conjunction with Frontline Make Change and Dublin South City partnership.

The two organisations are making food packs that include canned goods, cereal, pasta, rice and other household items that will be delivered by volunteers.

St Pat’s Community Officer David Morrissey said: ”The club plays an active role in ensuring that the well-being of the Inchicore community is upheld.

“Since the crisis began we’ve been in constant communication with other community groups to see how we as a football club could best serve the people of Inchicore.

“Richmond Park has unfortunately been closed for the past number of weeks, so as a club we thought, why wouldn’t we use our facilities as a hub.”

Food donations can be dropped at Richmond Park from 12pm-2pm on Saturdays or from 2pm-4pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
