St Pat's FAI Cup win toasted by Brian Kerr and 'The Wire' actor Wendell Pierce

There were jubilant scenes in the stands at the Aviva Stadium as Brian Kerr led the St Pat's celebrations following a dramatic FAI Cup final triumph.

Footage captured by the LOI Central podcast saw former Saints manager Kerr, whose name is synonymous with the Inchicore club, jumping for joy following penalty shootout win.

Robbie Benson scored the decisive penalty to send the St Pat's fans into raptures and secure the club's fourth FAI Cup. His winner came after Bohs had actually taken a 3-2 lead in the shootout - but misses from Tyreke Wilson and Keith Ward proved decisive.

Chris Forrester gave Pat's the lead in extra-time after a tense stalemate ended 0-0, before substitute Rory Feely hit back with a header for Bohs.

Kerr wasn't the only famous face celebrating the win, however, with unlikely Saints fan and actor Wendell Pierce (known for playing 'Bunk' in HBO series 'The Wire) also toasting the victors.

After St Pat's lifted the cup, Pierce tweeted: "RAISE THE CUP, LADS!!!!!!! St. Patrick’s Athletic FC!!!!!! (and a few pints as well…) @stpatsfc #FAIfinal"

A crowd of over 37,000 watched the final - making this the highest-attended FAI Cup final at the Aviva Stadium.

There were ugly scenes before kick-off close to the ground, however, as groups fought at a pub in Irishtown within walking distance of Lansdowne Road.
