St Mirren vs Hearts date and kick-off time confirmed for rearranged relegation clash in Paisley

The Scottish Premiership basement battle between St Mirren and Hearts has been rescheduled for Wednesday,  March 11 with a 7.45pm kick-off.

The Jambos were due to head to the Simple Digital Arena last Friday night for the key clash at the foot of the table, but it was called off mid-afternoon with parts of Paisley underwater due to the heavy rain caused by Storm Dennis.

Ross County took full advantage of the pair’s inaction by winning at Aberdeen the following day to move seven points clear of the Buddies, whereas fellow strugglers Hamilton could only draw with ten-man Motherwell to remain in the 11 placed play-off spot.

St Mirren face Aberdeen themselves this weekend at home in the last eight of the Scottish Cup, just a couple of hours after the Jambos host Rangers at the same stage.

There are three points separating St Mirren and Hearts in the table, but that could all change by the time they go head to head.

Daniel Stendel ’s team also face an Edinburgh derby and home meeting with Motherwell before the rearranged game, with Jim Goodwin ’s men at home to St Johnstone and away to Celtic in the interim.
