St Mirren vs Hearts called OFF after Paisley turf fails pitch inspection for Friday night clash

The Friday night clash between St Mirren and Hearts is OFF after failing a pitch inspection.

The Premiership fixture was thrown in doubt earlier today as the SPFL assessed the pitch to see if the game would go ahead.

And it has been confirmed that the game has been postponed after referee Alan Muir determined that the pitch was waterlogged.

The aftermath of Storm Dennis has seriously impacted grounds up and down the country as the horrible weather continues.

A series of games were called off last weekend including Rangers vs Livingston, which was rescheduled for 24 hours later on Sunday.

Their Europa League clash against Braga went ahead, but the pitch was clearly in a poor state after the recent downpour of rain that has hit Scotland.

Partick Thistle vs Dunfermline is also under threat on Saturday and a pitch inspection will go ahead at 10am at Firhill.

It is expected several other league matches could be affected across the weekend.
