St Mirren secure second signing of the day as Norwich prospect joins Joe Shaughnessy

St Mirren have confirmed their second signing of a hectic Monday in Paisley.

Talented Norwich youngster Isak Thorvaldsson has joined Joe Shaughnessy in signing on the dotted line this afternoon after agreeing a season-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old Icelandic midfielder has spent three years in the Canaries youth ranks and was most recently on loan at Fleetwood Town.

The youngster is also captain of the Iceland under-19 team, currently with nine caps to his name while picking up one goal against Albania in November 2019.

Norwich have an option to recall him in January.

The prospect follows in the footsteps of Akin Famewo, who enjoyed a spell on loan in the Premiership with the Saints from the same club last season.

Earlier in the afternoon the club finally sealed a move for Jim Goodwin's main target Joe Shaugnessy.

The 28-year-old left Southend at the start of the month and joins on a two-year deal.
