St Mirren's Tony Fitzpatrick insists club in no rush to push through season ticket sales

Chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick insists St Mirren won’t rush into selling season tickets to help swell the club’s coffers.

Several Scottish Premiership clubs have already started selling books for the next campaign, including Aberdeen and Hibs, despite the start date still being unknown.

Fitzpatrick is adamant the club won’t push season ticket sales until it is absolutely necessary financially.

He told Express Sport: “We’ll try and hold off selling season tickets for as long as we possibly can.

“We know eventually we will have to start selling them because can’t kid ourselves – we’re like any other business.

“We will need the revenue eventually because we’re looking at months without any gate receipt cash.

“The final standings money is yet to be decided and handed out should the season end before playing the remaining games.

“I’m not just saying it though – our fans are terrific.

“They’re special and I know they’ll support us through season tickets when the time comes.”
