St Mirren must make Hearts suffer in Paisley, says captain Sam Foley

St Mirren captain Sam Foley insists his team have to make a stand against Hearts on their home turf.

The Buddies know a loss tomorrow night would send them joint-bottom of the Premiership table alongside their struggling visitors.

A win would push the Saints six points clear of the Jambos with just eight games remaining, and Foley believes they can park their dismal defeat to Celtic on Saturday to boost their survival hopes with a vital win against the Edinburgh side.

He told Express Sport: “It is at our place and we need to perform to the level we know will win us the game.

“In football we talk about momentum a lot. When you go to places like Celtic Park and Ibrox it is a break from the norm, from the bread and butter.

"But for St Mirren to compete with Celtic? It is a different playing field.

“Anything we could have got from that game would have been a bonus.

“We will look at it as if we were playing Celtic on Saturday. We will prepare properly. When it comes down to it the game is just two teams. You park any preconceptions."
