St Mirren midfielder Keanu Baccus attracts interest from English Championship side Huddersfield

Saints midfielder Keanu Baccus' impressive form in Paisley since making the switch from Australia over the summer hasn't gone unnoticed.

Several English clubs are understood to be keeping tabs on the bustling 24-year-old, who has made an instant impression since joining St Mirren from Western Sydney Wanderers on a two-year deal in July.

And Championship side Huddersfield, managed by former Celtic and Norwich midfielder Mark Fotheringham, is reported to have sent a senior scout to the SMISA Stadium on Saturday to see Baccus in action against Kilmarnock.

While Baccus was below par in the goalless draw, like the majority of his teammates as admitted by boss Stephen Robinson himself, the Australia international is still likely to garner significant interest this winter.

Especially if he finds himself in the Socceroos' World Cup squad, with Australia's assistant manager Rene Meulensteen also taking in the Killie match to check on his progress as well as teammate and full-back Ryan Strain.

The pair are both hoping to be involved next month when Australia face France, Denmark and Tunisia in Group D.
