St Mirren are plotting to make a move for Hamilton ’s Alex Gogic.
The versatile defender is out-of-contract with Accies in the coming weeks.
Saints boss Jim Goodwin has identified the 26-year-old as one of his top summer targets.
The problem for Goodwin is that although he has identified the players he wants he is not in a position to make offers until his budget for next season is finalised.
Goodwin and sporting director Gus MacPherson have been working hard behind the scenes talking to agents and targets.
He is hoping now that the season has been called that he can start to firm up his interest and table offers.
Gogic already has a new contract offer on the table from Hamilton and is considering that.
There is also interest in him from other teams in the Premiership and also from England.
Gogic moved to Hamilton three years ago from Swansea City.
