St Mirren fans hit out at Celtic Park prices with banner after being hit with big charge

St Mirren supporters have slammed the price of match tickets at Celtic Park .

Fans of the Paisley club were charged £30 for Wednesday night’s Premiership clash with the champions.

The cost is up there with the highest in Scotland’s top flight. Livingston fans were charged £23 for their game against Hibs at Easter Road while Aberdeen’s had to pay £22 for entry to Hamilton.

St Mirren fans – who could have paid slightly less at £27 for restricted view seats – held up a banner that read "twenty’s plenty" before kick-off.

It struck a chord with some Celtic punters as well. One wrote on Twitter, "St Mirren with the 20s plenty banner. Good on them." Another posted:"Class to see a #twentysplenty banner from St Mirren fans tonight."

Celtic supporters are also angry with ticket prices and have unfurled banners to display their disgust. During their clash at Hamilton in September, they held up a message that read: "Overcharging the fans ... underselling the game".

Celtic fans had to fork out £22 for that game which ended 1-0 to the visitors.

James Forrest scored the only goal of the game.

Celtic fans then stepped up the twentysplenty campaign earlier this month when they flashed the message before the home game against Ross County.
