St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin tests positive for Covid-19 and will miss Celtic clash

St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin will miss out on the Buddies trip to face Celtic tomorrow after testing positive for coronavirus.

The Saints manager will now self-isolate, with assistant manager Lee Sharp and Jamie Langfield taking charge of first team duties.

The Paisley club broke the news shortly before Goodwin was due to hold his pre-match media conference this afternoon.

A St Mirren spokesman said: "St Mirren Football Club can confirm that manager Jim Goodwin will miss this weekend’s match away to Celtic after testing positive for Covid-19.

"Everyone at the club wishes Jim a full and speedy recovery.

"Lee Sharp and Jamie Langfield will take charge of first-team duties until the manager returns."
