St Mirren boost as Coventry City loanee Brandon Mason states desire to see out season

Brandon Mason has handed the Buddies a transfer boost by revealing his desire to stay at St Mirren for the rest of the season.

The Coventry City loanee linked up with the Saints in October, with the English Championship club retaining the right to recall the full-back this month.

Speaking with Express Sport, Mason insists he wants to stay in Paisley to see out the current campaign as the 23-year-old believes he still has more to learn with St Mirren.

He said: “I love being here. The boys are great and the gaffer Jim is great with me, I’m learning so much being here.

“Obviously it’s a shame the fans aren’t back yet, I’ve heard a lot about them.

“But so far it’s been really enjoyable, lots of high moments and I want that to continue.

“I’d like to think I’ll be here the rest of the season. With the window being open, I’m not sure exactly the circumstances but I’m happy to be here and I’m grateful for the opportunity the gaffer has given me.

“It’s a great team and we’ll definitely be pushing up this league.

"We’re looking forward to the League Cup semi-final as well massively. Hopefully we can go all the way.”
