St Malachy's College clinch NI Schools' Cup final with win over De La Salle

Two goals in extra-time saw St Malachy's College Belfast clinch the NI Schools' Cup on Monday.

Paul Scullion scored twice with the impressive Padraig Slane also on the scoresheet against De La Salle at Seaview.

Scullion broke the deadlock with a clinical finish from Slane's cross, but that was cancelled out by Conal McDonald who levelled for De La Salle.

De La Salle were reduced to 10 men when Ronan Hamill was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident.

The game was forced into extra-time and it wasn't until the second period that St Malachy's finally got their goals.

Slane pounced on a defensive error to round the De La Salle keeper to score, and he then turned provider for Scullion to bag his second of the game to complete the 3-1 victory.
