St Johnstone will play Hibernian for a place in the Betfred Cup final

St Johnstone will face off against Hibernian for a place in the final of the Betfred Cup.

The draw for the last four took place on Wednesday evening after St Mirren had sent Rangers tumbling out of the competition.

With Celtic exiting at an earlier stage, Saints have great reason to dream of more national cup silverware.

Callum Davidson’s side secured their semi-final ticket by defeating Dunfermline on penalties on Tuesday evening.

Club stalwart Liam Craig netted the winning kick from 12 yards and he is craving cup glory in a Perth jersey.

“I’m sure the fans have enjoyed large spells of what we’ve done this year,” he said.

“If we can give them a cup final, it would be even better.

“I’m getting older now and it’s important the young players realise opportunities to get to a final don’t come along often.

“We’ve put ourselves in the position where we can do that.”

The other semi-final will see St Mirren play Livingston. The games will take place on the weekend of January 23/24.

See Friday’s PA for the full interview with Craig.
