St Johnstone WFC boss urges players to create more celebratory scenes this weekend

Celebrations have just about died down following last week’s stoppage-time winner at Stirling University.

Now St Johnstone WFC manager Jason McCrindle is urging his players to do it all over again.

The Perth side head for Partick Thistle on Sunday for their second Premier League 2 fixture of the season.

“Partick have made a good start, unbeaten after their first two games,” McCrindle said.

“They are well-organised, strong and physical but can play too. We’ll need to be even better than what we were on Sunday.

“We’re trying to create a positive environment for the players to work in.

“We want them to enjoy it, have fun and work hard. That is how we want them to play on a Sunday too.

“Everyone saw what it meant to us by scoring at the end last week.

“We need to carry that momentum forward and try win the game. We know it will be very difficult.”

Saints will be without Hannah Scott and goalkeeper Megan Sidey.

“Apart from that we have a full squad,” McCrindle added. “There has been a lot of hard work at training.”
