St Johnstone unveil new red and white away kit

St Johnstone’s new red and white away kit takes inspiration from a memorable period in the club’s history.

Perth fans of a certain vintage will remember the same colours gracing pitches across Scotland in the late 80s and early 90s.

It was a time for excitement - much like the current day following Saints’ incredible cup double-winning success last season.

The strip includes a subtle nod to that special cup double - with a gold trim in the shape of the gold Macron Hero.

Club legend Roddy Grant, who was top scorer during the 1989/90 promotion campaign, said: “The new away kit takes me back to those golden days surrounding the club.

“It’s a great remake of our kit - and it has a modern flair that makes it fit for purpose in today’s game.

“The gold trims are a great touch to last year’s success.

“I look back fondly on the feel-good-factor around the club when I wore the 1989-91 kits, and I can see it again.

“The whole city is just on a real high, and it’s great to see so many engaged with everything the club is doing.”
