St Johnstone are understood to be closing in on the signing of Bulgarian goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov.
Mitov, most recently of English League One side Cambridge United, is expected to undergo his medical in the next 24 hours.
The 26-year-old had been with the U’s since 2017 and previously spent time coming through the ranks at Charlton Athletic.
He was said to have played a “pivotal” role in helping Cambridge to promotion in 2020/21 before moving on to produce “awe-inspiring” performances.
A standout moment was his display and clean sheet heroics in a third round FA Cup win against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Ross Sinclair was handed the number one jersey in Perth towards the end of last season and has been between the posts in recent pre-season matches.
He kept a clean sheet on Tuesday night as Saints ran out 3-0 winners against East Fife.
