St James's Hospital staff appeal for more gowns to wear in battle against COVID-19

A Dublin hospital is appealing for more gowns for their staff to wear as they battle Covid-19.

Respiratory doctor Anne-Marie McLaughlin who works at St James's Hospital took to Twitter to appeal for donations of the long-sleeved impermeable garments.

She thanked the public for responding to an earlier appeal for PPE donations and made a special request for anyone who might have such gowns to donate them.

Dr McLaughlin said: "We would like to thank all of the public who have donated PPE over the last three weeks for us and we are extremely grateful.

"We have one more request. In particular, we're looking for gowns that our health care workers can wear when visiting patients.

"These gowns in particular, are long-sleeved gowns and they're made of material which is impermeable to liquids.

"If you have such gowns available and you're in a position to donate them, we would be most grateful.

"You can contact us through our email ppeforfrontline@gmail.com. Thank you."
