St Helens, Knowsley and Wirral record more coronavirus deaths

New coronavirus deaths have been recorded at hospitals covering St Helens, Knowsley and Wirral.

Today's update from NHS England provided a much needed break for Liverpool's hospitals, which have been hit very hard by virus tragedies this week.

There were no further deaths to add to the Liverpool University Hospital Trust's grim total of 657 deaths in today's update.

However there were fatalities registered elsewhere in the region.

The worst hit was the St Helens and Knowsley Trust, which has added a further four coronavirus deaths.

Two deaths were registered at the Southport and Ormskirk Trust, with the same amount added to the total of Wirral's main Trust.

A further two coronavirus fatalities were also recorded at the Halton and Warrington hospitals Trust.

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust - 10

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 276 (+2)

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 186 (+2)

Across England there were a further 174 coronavirus deaths recorded in NHS hospitals, bringing the total to 32,291.

Patients were aged between 33 and 102 years old. All except four (aged 61 to 87 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 27 March to 27 October 2020, with the majority being on or after 20 October.
