Coronavirus cases across the borough of St Helens have decreased compared to last week, new figures reveal.
The numbers, which cover the week up to May 3, show the borough recorded 16 coronavirus cases at a rate of 8.9 per 100,000 people.
This has decreased in comparison to the previous week, when there were 27 coronavirus cases recorded.

Since non-essential shops reopened on April 12, the number of Covid-19 cases in St Helens has decreased by 61.2%.
The next few weeks will be important in identifying the impact of lockdown restrictions, which may again ease from May 17.
According to the data, the same week saw zero deaths within 28 days of a positive test recorded in St Helens on May 3.
This week also saw a huge milestone for the borough, as Merseyside’s only COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Centre announced it had delivered over 100,000 vaccinations to people in four months.
The centre, is based at St Helens rugby ground, and is run by St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, can vaccinate up to 2,000 people each day and is currently providing both first and second dose appointments.
Wednesday, May 5, saw the centre’s busiest day yet with 2,119 people booked to have their jab.

In comparison to other parts of the Liverpool City Region, St Helens recorded the second lowest infection rate, behind Liverpool, which recorded 6.9 per 100,000.
Elsewhere in our region, cases went down across most areas, but not all.
On the same week-by-week comparison, Halton's rate is now 13.14 per 100,00, down from 20.9 last week.
Wirral saw a decrease in its rate, from 12.3 to 9.9, whereas Sefton 's rate has went from 21 to 25.7
However, Knowsley’s rate has decreased from from 13.9 to 9.3, as well as Liverpool, which recorded 13.4 on April 26 and 6.8 on May 3.
