St Enoch fire - no casualties involved as three fire crews extinguish hotel blaze

Fire crews remained on the scene of a blaze at a city centre hotel until the early hours of this morning.

As reported on Glasgow Live, a fire broke out at the St Enoch Hotel on Howard Street shortly after 8pm on Sunday (June 16).

Nearby Dixon Street was shut off while emergency services dealt with the issue.

Three fire engines and an aerial appliance were on the scene in the city centre until 12.18am this morning and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service report there were no casualties.

A spokesman said: “SFRS was alerted at 8.03pm on Sunday, June 16 to reports of a fire within a hotel premises in Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire engines and an aerial appliance to the scene, at Howard Street, where crews extinguished a small fire on the second floor of a four-storey building.

“There were no casualties.

“Crews ventilated the affected areas and left at 12.18am on Monday, June 17 after ensuring the area was made safe.”
