St Cuthbert Wanderers boss Jordan Williamson looking for side to go all the way in South of Scotland Challenge Cup

St Cuthbert Wanderers boss Jordan Williamson is hoping his side can go all the way in the South of Scotland Challenge Cup.

The Kirkcudbright side head to Abbey Vale for a quarter-final clash on Saturday and the St Mary’s Park gaffer is looking to progress.

He said: “It’s probably the biggest cup the club can play in, aside from the South regional and the Scottish Cup. It’s the biggest cup domestically.

“We’ve progressed this far and if we could get to a final in the first season of our development it would be massive for the players and the club as a whole.

“That’s not to say it’s going to be easy. It will be a very difficult task and we will treat Abbey Vale with respect.

“They have only been beaten five or six times this season.

“We managed to beat them in the league but we had to ride our luck for that. It’s one the players are up for.”

Saints, who had no game last weekend, should be at almost full strength for the game.

The only likely absentee is Sebastian Teneggi who is suspended.
