St Andrew's Hospice launches advent calendar raffle

St Andrew’s Hospice is launching an extra-special countdown to Christmas – with a new “advent calendar” fundraising raffle.

The Airdrie charity will give away one star prize per day starting on December 1, culminating in a draw on Christmas Eve where one lucky winner will receive £1000.

Lucky tickets will be drawn each day, with the prizes on offer ranging from a four-ball at Gleneagles and a games console to vouchers and hampers.

Daily winners will also still be eligible to win the top prize on Christmas Eve, and there will also be two runner-up cash prizes of £250 and £100 on offer in the final draw.

Hospice fundraiser Claire Dalgleish said: “With all events this year being cancelled or postponed, we were trying to think of a Christmas event which didn’t involve anyone having to be out and about and which everybody can take part in.

“We thought of the advent calendar and we’ll be having a bit of fun with that to reveal the prizes each day and announce the winners.

“All the prizes are fantastic and we’ll have a special one to give away each Friday, and then the £1000 on Christmas Eve, which would be an amazing present for the winner.”

The £1 tickets, which can also be purchased in books of 10, are available on the hospice website or by calling 01236 772041.

Entry tickets should be returned or completed online before Monday, November 30 to ensure participants have all 24 chances to win; but later entries will also be added to the next draw and all those thereafter.

The lucky winners will be contacted by phone and each day’s draw result will also be posted on the hospice’s Facebook page; while weekend draws will take place each Monday in December.
