St Andrew's hospice given huge donation from car dealership

St Andrew’s Hospice has received a £2000 donation from car dealership Taggarts Land Rover Lanarkshire.

The Airdrie charity was chosen to benefit from staff’s fundraising efforts through general sales manager Dominic Cameron, whose father-in-law was cared for there before he sadly passed away last year.

Dominic said: “The hospice were absolutely brilliant when caring for him; it was very satisfying to be able to support them in this way.

“The staff at St Andrew’s were so caring and I just want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to them once again.”

Staff from Taggarts are now planning to visit the Henderson Street hospice to see the work carried out with the help of donations.

The dealership is part of the Lookers group, and franchise director Bob Grant added: “We’re very proud to have such an important service as St Andrew’s here in the community and commend every one of the caring and compassionate staff that work there.”

Hospice community fundraiser Bruce Mackenzie, third left, is pictured receiving the cheque from Bob Grant, left, and Taggarts staff (from second left) Andrew Johnston, Dominic Cameron, Stephanie Hampson, Laura Keegan and Scott Brawley.
