SSPCA launch appeal for young kitten abandoned in Motherwell high rise flats

The Scottish SPCA are looking information after a kitten was discovered in the stairwell of high rise flats in Motherwell.

The animal welfare charity was alerted to the kitten in Netherwood Tower on 23 September after the janitor found the eight-week-old cat.

Animal rescue officer Sarah Parker said, “The janitor of the building contacted us after finding the female cat on the seventh floor.

“Nobody in the building had lost the cat so the janitor contacted our animal helpline.

“She looks to be around seven or eight weeks old.

“She seems in good condition and is receiving care at one of our animal rescue and rehoming centres.

“We are keen to locate her owner and get her home. She is a friendly wee girl with a lovely nature.

“If anyone can help, we would urge them to call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
