SSE Airtricity League launches live streaming website ahead of July 31 return

The SSE Airtricity League's streaming platform has been launched ahead of the return of League of Ireland football on July 31.

Fans in Ireland can purchase a season pass for €55 on watchloi.ie, which will allow them to access 55+ Premier Division games as well as FAI Cup matches and classic Republic of Ireland internationals. Overseas fans can buy the same package for a price of €69.

A number of clubs have already announced that season ticket holders will be able to access a season pass for free, while individual games can also be purchased for €5.

Revenue generated from the platform will be split between all Premier Division and First Division clubs.

Matches will be staggered over the weekend at different kick-off times when the League of Ireland season resumes at the end of the month.

There will be two matches on Fridays, with the first starting at 5.45pm and the second at 7.45pm.

Another two top-flight games will take place on Saturdays with 2pm and 5pm kick-off times.

The remaining Premier Division game will generally be played at 5.00pm on a Sunday

The League season is now being held over 18 games rather than 36 and matches are slated to revert to their traditional Friday night slot from September 18 onwards.

League chiefs could decide to extend the staggered kick-offs past that date, depending on how successful the streaming plan proves to be.
