SsangYong expands into north-east of Scotland

KOREAN marque SsangYong is strengthening its presence in Scotland by joining forces with two showrooms in the north-east.

The brand will now be represented by both Station Garage dealerships in Aberdeen and Torphins.

SsangYong Motors UK chief Kevin Griffin said: “We are delighted to welcome Station Garage in both locations to the SsangYong franchise.

“The business has an excellent reputation in Scotland and beyond for customer service and I’m positive that, along with SsangYong’s value-for-money proposition, we can look forward to great things together.”

Station Garage boss Adrian McGregor added: “We believe that there are many synergies between our businesses and we love the excellent products they have on offer both now and the ones coming in the near future.

“As the motor trade evolves, we are proud to move with the technology and continue to develop our facilities as we look forward to many more years in business.”

Station Garage was founded in Torphins in 1979 by McGregor and the late Bob Shepherd, specialising in fast Fords and gaining an exceptional reputation for flexibility and excellent customer service.

The growing reputation allowed the business to expand further – taking on Daihatsu and Mitsubishi franchises, as well as opening the Aberdeen dealership over the years. Now its 4x4 tradition is evolving again to include SsangYong.

McGregor concluded: “We would like to thank all our customers and staff at Torphins and Aberdeen over the past 40 years for their contribution to our continued success and loyal support.

“We will, of course, continue to look after our Mitsubishi clients in an aftersales capacity, and we’re excited to welcome new customers, too, with the introduction of the SsangYong brand.”
