SRUC Barony Campus staff take part in Movember in tribute to colleague

Some marvellous moustaches are adoring the faces of staff at Dumfries SRUC Barony College who took part in a Movember fundraising campaign.

They braved the shave to raise awareness of prostate cancer – which is the single biggest killer of the male population – and in memory of a much-missed colleague, Brian Mcmorran, who died of the disease in January last year.

Thanks to donations through online site https://gofund.me/021bd926 from colleagues, students, friends and family, they smashed their £1,000 fundraising target on Monday (December 6).

Donations are currently standing at £1,020 and it is not too late for more to be made via their funding page.

A spokesman for the 13 men who have been growing their moustaches for the cause said: “Brian, the gentleman we lost was a long term member of staff admired by his colleagues and students alike. I hope people will join us in contributing to our cause.”
