Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena says he's using an emergency law to ban face coverings being worn in public from Monday, in response to the fatal Easter Sunday attacks.
Details: Sirisena said it applies to all garments that "hinder the identity of the person." He didn't mention specific veil types. But it's understood the niqab and burka, worn by some Muslim women, would be affected, the BBC reports. Sri Lanka remains on high alert 8 days on from the church and hotel bombings.
