Sreenath Arvind appointed Baroda bowling coach

BENGALURU: Former Karnataka left-arm pacer Sreenath Arvind has been appointed bowling coach of the Baroda senior cricket team for the 2023-24 season.

The 39-year-old, who bagged 186 wickets from the 56 first-class matches he played for Karnataka, was the bowling coach of the team from 2018-2022.

During the period, Karnataka’s best performance in Ranji Trophy was a semifinal finish while they won both Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare Trophies twice.

Speaking about his appointment, Arvind, who is a NCA level-2 coach, said, “For the first time since making my debut for Karnataka in 2007, I’ve moved out of the state. I look forward to working with fresh talent and contributing to Baroda cricket.”

Arvind, who took a break from domestic coaching last season, stated, “It was a season of learning. In September last year I was part of the NCA pace bowling coaches’ internship program under Troy Cooley. It was a huge learning curve. I hope to put whatever I learnt to use now.”

The Baroda support staff will be led by head coach Mukund Parmar.
