Netflix's hit drama Squid Game follows several people who are lured into a bloodthirsty survival game for the chance to win 45.6 billion Korean won (£28 million).
In the series a group of 456 people go head to head in a series of six games - but if they lose they will die.
One competitor who has proved popular with fans of the show is Kang Sae-byeok, a North Korean played by HoYeon Jung, who needs money to reunite her family.
But who is HoYeon Jung? Daily Mirror finds out everything you need to know about the actress.
Chanel m odel
The Squid Game actress was born in Seoul, South Korea, in June 1994 and started modelling at the young age of 16 in 2013.
She made her international modelling debut for Louis Vuitton in 2016 and since then has strutted her stuff for big name fashion houses including Chanel, Prabal Gurung and Roberto Cavalli.
She has also appeared on the cover of Vogue Korea , Vogue Japan , CR Fashion Book and Harper’s BAZAAR Korea .
She went on to appear in the fourth season of ‘Korea’s Next Top Model where she bagged second place.
Acting debut
Jung has been casted in her breakout role as Kang Sae-byeok in the Netflix ’s hit series.
In an interview with Models.com, Jung revealed that she wanted to be known as an actor.
She said: “I learned more English because I wanted to actually learn acting.”
She also said she was interested in the action genre and could see herself in works like Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill.
In an interview with W Korea, translated by NME, Jung revealed her reaction to learning that she had been cast in the show.
"When my CEO told me I’d been casted, the first thing I said was, 'Why?' I was so happy when I heard the news, but it was like a greater fear had taken over me. [I was like] ‘Thank you very much, but I can do this?'"

Jung said she prepared for her Squid Game role, by watching documentaries about refugees from North Korea.
She told how she was able to relate to her character because she left Korea to further her modelling career overseas.
She said: "I watched a lot of documentaries about North Korean defectors. I also practiced speaking in a North Korean accent with a teacher, and studied a lot."
"More than anything, I think I was able to accept [the character] Sae-byeok without any big difficulties because I am similar to her. In 2016, I left Korea to further my modelling career overseas, and I spent a lot of time alone. At the time, the emotion that I felt the most was 'loneliness'… That feeling of loneliness while trying to persevere and live isn’t all that different."
HoYeon has been dating South Korean actor Lee Donghwi since 2016.
The South Korean star is known for his role on the show Reply 1988 and recently surprised fans with his singing.
She is friends with Blackpink star Jennie.
Jennie from hit Korean girl band Blackpink is one of HoYeon's close friends.
The pair often post selfies together and social media and Jung Ho Yeon even visited Jennie on one of BLACKPINK’s world tour concerts.
Lee Jung-jae revealed in a variety show clip with the Squid Game cast that Jennie visited the set and sent a coffee truck to support her.
Also, Lee ended up checking out the group's Netflix doc BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky and becoming a fan.
Squid Game lead actor Lee Jung Jae confirmed that Jennie and Jung are great friends.
He said: “I can’t really call myself a fan of BLACKPINK, but Ho Yeon and Jennie are great friends. Jennie actually visited us with a coffee truck. I was like, ‘Wow! That’s Jennie from BLACKPINK!’ It was cool.”
