Squid Game fans spot clue players all missed that would have saved their lives

Eagle-eyed fans of Squid Game have spotted a huge plot clue that was staring the players in the face from the moment they entered the game - and none of them seemed to notice.

The popular Netflix series sees debt-ridden contestants compete in childhood games in an effort to find their fortune, but must pay with their lives if they lose.

If you're still making your way through the show or yet to start, it might be best to look away now to avoid spoilers.

For each game, the players are often required to team up but grapple with the decision over whether to opt for brains or brawn as they have no idea what challenge they will be faced with.

The doctor is seen helping the workers in exchange for information on what games are coming next, and Gi-hun would likely never have paired with elderly Player 001 for the marble competition had he known it would be impossible for them both to walk out alive.

But it turns out that all of that could have been avoided if the players had simply paid more notice to their surroundings, rather than keeping their eyes fixed on one another.

Some viewers noticed the walls of the dormitory contain everything they needed to know, with drawings showing stick figures competing in six games in the correct order, including red light, green light, a tug of war, and people holding the four shapes from the honeycomb carving challenge.

The large pictures were often partially obscured by the vast number of beds required, but even from episode one the detail didn't get past some fans, as one tweeted : "From the beginning, all the games were drawn already on the wall but no one noticed it..."

A second said: "So for those who watched Squid Game, am I tripping or did y’all notice the drawings on the walls in the area they slept in?

"They had the answer to 'what’s the next game' the whole time."

And a third wrote: "I noticed this in the beginning and I kept shouting 'look at the walls!' But they never did."

But it wasn't just the players who missed the glaring details, as others said: "Imma have to rewatch to see because I never saw them."

And another added: "Did it stay on the walls until the end? I gotta go back now and check."
