Square Space's Times Square art project in New York to unite 150 global brands and 'show modern face of business'

It is called TimesSquareSpace, it is designed to show the real face of modern business, and it is happening smack in the middle of New York City.

More than 150 brands from around the world will combine to create an innovative art composition, featuring companies from China and Russia, to Britain and the US.

The Independent is among those companies selected to show the modern face of business, displayed on the location’s famous HD digital screens.

“We will gather in one place the most outstanding brands in the world,” said  Andrew Fields, the CFO of Square Space and the inspiration behind the project.

“We select our own companies all over the world who will take part in the project, in general, we are looking for the most innovative and admired companies.”

Among those brands taking part are Emirates Airlines, Microsoft, Nestle, Bayer, Tata Motors, Ubisoft, Aeroflot, British Petroleum with London’s Thomas Traum design studio operating the compilation.

The project provides an opportunity for global companies to be displayed on one of the most recognisable and  advertising platforms in the world - Times Square in New York City, said Mr Fields.

Proceeds raised from this project will be used to provide assistance to promising young entrepreneurs in developing countries.

Every day, more than 360,000 pedestrians pass through Times Square, with still more traveling in vehicles. This makes it one of the busiest locations in the world. It is estimated that between 40 and 50 million tourists visit the site each year.
