Spy chiefs warn smart cities are tempting targets for a hack

Security chiefs are warning us that our increasingly ‘smart cities’ are a prime target for hacker gangs -  and are urging council bosses and hospitals to prepare themselves.

The National Cyber Security Centre says sensors and web-connected devices used to improve urban services could also be infiltrated to cause huge chaos.

They say dangerous access points include congestion cameras, pollution monitors and or even the humble car park sensor.
