Spurs' training session in Belgrade: Who trained, who didn't and the surprising player left out

The Tottenham Hotspur players were put through their paces at the Rajko Mitic Stadium on Tuesday night.

Spurs take on Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Wednesday night, looking to push themselves closer to the knockout stages.

There were a number of players who were not involved though and some who were simply left back in England.

Hugo Lloris, Erik Lamela and Jan Vertonghen all missed out through injury, while right-backs Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters have remained at home.

Also, somewhat surprisingly due to his lack of match action in recent weeks, Harry Winks did not make the trip across to Belgrade.

There were a couple of young players involved with Troy Parrott and Japhet Tanganga continuing their time with the first team, alongside fellow academy product Oliver Skipp.

There were only three goalkeepers present, Paulo Gazzaniga, Michel Vorm and academy keeper Brandon Austin.

The players who came out early, including Giovani Lo Celso, Christian Eriksen, Juan Foyth and Austin, took part in a game of keepy uppy while they waited for the others.

When everyone was out, the players began to go through their stretches before heading off to run through various drills in a light session ahead of the match.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino patrolled around the training session with Jesus Perez his assistant manager, while coaches from the youth set-up including John McDermott, Ryan Mason and Matt Taylor watched on from the stands with the U19s squad who will play Red Star in the UEFA Youth League in the afternoon ahead of the big game.
