A worrying moment, who trained and who didn't ahead of Tottenham's clash with Manchester City

The Tottenham squad participated in their final training session ahead of their Champions League clash with Manchester City on Monday morning and an injury nearly cast a shadow over the time.

As the group emerged from indoors to the rain and wet Hotspur Way training pitches, three players were missing from the main group. That saw Eric Dier and Erik Lamela training separately with coaches over on a different pitch, running and then kicking balls as they continue their rehabilitation after their respective hip flexor muscle and hamstring strains.

Serge Aurier (hamstring strain) missed out entirely on the session and the Ivory Coast international has also suffered a family bereavement.

Young midfielder Luke Amos was running with a coach on another pitch as he enters the final months of his return from his cruciate ligament injury.

Among the main group was Fernando Llorente, who had returned from his alloted concussion recovery time.

The group went through quick touch drills before forming rondos (known as piggy in the middle in the schoolyard) and manager Mauricio Pochettino emerged at that point.

Here's a gallery of the players in action:

Pochettino would have seen a worrying moment in one group. Davinson Sanchez was getting into the full spirit of the training session, sliding into one tackle on Son Heung-min in his effort to try to intercept the ball and then he ran full-blooded to head the ball out of the circle.

However, as he ran Juan Foyth appeared to catch him accidentally in the face and one member of club staff had to come over and check out the Colombian. After a couple of minutes he was allowed to return to the group for the session.

You can see the incident in the video below:

Pochettino will be hoping his players take that spirit on to the pitch at the new stadium as they face a stern test of their Champions League credentials in Pep Guardiola's men.
