Spurs team vs Red Star confirmed: Giovani Lo Celso given first start with Dier, Foyth and Rose

There are a few fresh faces in the Tottenham Hotspur team to face Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.

After a tough draw at Everton on Sunday, Mauricio Pochettino has made a number of changes to his line-up to step into the hostile atmosphere in Serbia just three days later.

It is likely to be a very different game to the comprehensive 5-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Pochettino's men last month.

Hugo Lloris, Erik Lamela and Jan Vertonghen are all missing through injury, while Pochettino has also decided to leave Harry Winks, Serge Aurier, Kyle Walker-Peters and Victor Wanyama back in the UK.

Juan Foyth starts at right-back while Harry Kane returns to the team after recovering from a virus.

Pochettino did have a long one-on-one chat with Dier out on the stadium pitch during the training session in Belgrade on Tuesday night and he starts in central defence alongside Davinson Sanchez.

Giovani Lo Celso who has come off the bench a couple of times in recent matches makes his first start for Spurs, replacing the struggling Christian Eriksen.

Ryan Sessegnon, who made his brief debut at Goodison Park, is on the bench again while Danny Rose comes back into the team and Son Heung-min also starts.

Here is the Spurs team:

Gazzaniga, Foyth, Dier, Sanchez, Rose, Ndombele, Sissoko, Dele, Son, Lo Celso, Kane (C). Subs: Vorm, Alderweireld, Davies, Sessegnon, Skipp, Eriksen, Lucas.
