Christian Eriksen has travelled to Southampton but is not in Tottenham Hotspur's matchday squad for the FA Cup fourth round tie.
The Dane is close to a £17m move to Inter Milan and while he joined the players on the coach, he is not on the team or on the bench.
In the previous round Jose Mourinho gave Alderweireld a rest and this time he has rested the other older centre-back, Jan Vertonghen, allowing Davinson Sanchez to get some game time.
Japhet Tanganga comes back in at left-back to bring more solidity to the backline and allow Spurs to play the three at the back in possession that Mourinho prefers.
Tanguy Ndombele is on the bench again while Giovani Lo Celso starts once again with Gedson Fernandes handed his full debut for the club.
Hugo Lloris needs to continue to get match sharpness after three months out and the Frenchman starts again in the cup competition to add some leadership to the side.
