Spurs provide Tanguy Ndombele injury update as three ruled out for Jose Mourinho's first game

Spurs have confirmed that Tanguy Ndombele and Jan Vertonghen will be assessed ahead of this weekend's trip to West Ham.

The game will see Jose Mourinho take charge of the team for the very first time and he will be hoping that the duo are passed fit for the clash at the London Stadium.

Ndombele limped off injured with a groin issue at half-time against Sheffield United in the team's last game before the international break, with Vertonghen not featuring since the 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade last month due to a hamstring problem.

However, Mourinho will have to do without three players for the trip across the capital.

Erik Lamela, who also last appeared in the Champions League against the Serbian side, will not be available this weekend as he continues his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury, with Hugo Lloris also out due to the dislocated elbow he suffered at Brighton at the start of October.

Fellow goalkeeper Michel Vorm has also been ruled out due to a calf injury he sustained in training on Monday.

That means one of Brandon Austin or Alfie Whiteman will step up and provide cover for Paulo Gazzaniga.

Spurs are currently 14th in the league table and they need to start picking up the points sooner rather than later if they want to close the 11-point gap on the top four at present.
