Spurs predicted team vs Liverpool: Jose Mourinho to hand rare start to game changer

Jose Mourinho has to set up a Tottenham Hotspur team with injuries to key players to face runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool on Saturday.

Spurs will be without Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko, Hugo Lloris, Ben Davies and Tanguy Ndombele for the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Danny Rose has returned to training with the squad after his calf injury but appeared to be ruled out of playing against Jurgen Klopp's men by Mourinho.

The Tottenham boss has made it clear that neither Son Heung-min nor Lucas Moura are strikers but he will have to play with one or both in attacking areas due to the lack of options.

His central midfield options are also limited to Eric Dier, Harry Winks and playing Christian Eriksen, who has been linked with a switch to Inter Milan, Dele Alli or Giovani Lo Celso in a deeper role alongside one of them.

Mourinho must also decide whether to continue with the back three of recent games, continuing with teenager Ryan Sessegnon as a left wing-back, or switch to a regular back four.

A decision could also be made on whether Erik Lamela is fit enough to finally start a match, his first since October, after making a handful of substitute appearances.

Here is the team we reckon Mourinho will send out at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Son, Lamela and Alli all about to take turns in the most advanced role.

(3-4-2-1) Gazzaniga; Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Aurier, Eriksen, Dier, Sessegnon; Alli, Lamela; Son.
