Spurs player ratings vs Ipswich: Alfie Whiteman shows why he's Pochettino's third choice keeper

Alfie Whiteman

Pochettino's third choice goalkeeper now and this was a handy competitive outing for him. His first save was a push away of Dobra's powerful effort. Couldn't do anything about Roberts' close ranger leveller early in the second half or the same players low effort from only slightly further out on the hour mark. He did spill a simple rolling ball into his box but made up for it with a flying save to hold Simpson's effort. He then stood up well to deny Dobra from close range late on. 8

Jubril Okedina

The 18-year-old right-back did well on the whole down his side but did pick up a yellow card in the second half for a clumsy challenge. Didn't offer much in an attacking sense until a late ball that found its way to Asante for a big chance.  7

Timothy Eyoma

An experienced head, having made his senior debut last season, and captain for the night. Ipswich's goals didn't come from his side of the defence. 7

Brooklyn Lyons-Foster

The centre-back made some important early blocks but tied himself up in knots early in the second half twice with Dobra who set up Ipswich's equaliser on the first occasion. 6

Tariq Hinds

The versatile right-back was playing on the left and was involved with Spurs' early goal but struggled to handle Dobra himself as the Ipswich man set up Roberts' second goal on the hour. Lucky the referee played on as he was all over him and could have been off. 6

Harvey White

Fresh from his big summer with Pochettino's men, the 17-year-old was the anchor man and more than held his own against experienced Football League midfielders. 7

Tashan Oakley-Boothe

Set up Shashoua's early goal with a perfect ball into his stride in the box. Didn't make too much of an impact after that but put in a shift before coming off after the hour mark. 6

Armando Shashoua

Got on the scoresheet after just nine minutes with a clever run and poke through the keeper's legs. This was a busy performance from the Spurs midfielder and he was always looking for the ball. 8

Dilan Markanday

The diminutive dribbler embarked on some of his trademark runs, but struggled to make inroads at times in the final third. 6

Shilow Tracey

It was his run down the left that led to Spurs' opening goal. He worked tirelessly down the channel and curled a low effort just wide of the right-hand post with five minutes to go. 7

Rodel Richards

Plenty of tireless running up front and hold-up play, he tested the keeper with a good turn and shot just after the half hour mark. Beat the keeper to a loose ball soon after and could have fired into the empty net from a tight angle but curled over. 6

Subs

Phoenix Patterson

Replaced Oakley-Boothe late on as Spurs chased the game and he worked hard. 5

Enock Asante

Replaced White for the final few minutes and missed a great chance to level the game, shooting wide. N/A
